What is RFID Technology?

What do RFID chips and readers do? How does RFID protection increase the safety, security, and proficiency of warehouse operations?

There are many questions about what RFID is and how it is used as part of the digital transformation of manufacturing. RFID stands for radio frequency identification. OHEL has been creating RFID-based products since 2006.  It uses electromagnetic fields through radio wave frequencies to create a wireless networking system.

The name RFID represents the technology that is used. It is how the RFID chips and RFID readers talk to each other. RFID systems consist of a tiny radio transponder, a receiver, and a transmitter to track and account for items in real time.

What makes RFID chips so unique is how they can be detected instantaneously through chip readers; there is no need to scan a barcode. These chips are continuously communicating to the associated software systems for a seamless, fully automated connectivity system.

OHEL Technologies integrates these types of RFID technologies into each OH-BOX and OH-Rack to be one of the first companies to provide Industry 4.0 solutions. Each RFID-tagged item will report to our overhead software system for an instantaneous collection of inventory data including what user accessed what tool(s) and when.
